Reverse identity theft

July 21st, 2010 by admin

I have a relatively simple gmail address.  No numbers or funny spelling or anything.  I think it is pretty good.  I think a bunch of people on the internet agree, since they keep on using my address to sign up for things.
So far, I have gotten:
* Family photos
* Verizon bills
* A twitter account
* Conversations in Spanish
* A hotel confirmation in Dubai
* An account on “Naughty Canoodle”
* An insurance claim from the UK

I tried to tell Verizon that I did not owe them 240 dollars or live in the midwest… but they didn’t seem to care.  I am afraid to respond to some of the other emails, since they could just be sneaky spam.  As for twitter, if I ever feel the need to start twiting, I have an account with five free followers.
