Lettuce or Bacon… Hmmm

I’m not a farmer. I don’t claim to be an expert in the produce department. I didn’t bat an eyelash when they started putting in caramel apple or blooming onion mixes there. Sure, they aren’t produce, but I don’t care. I’m not picky.

But, you have to draw the line somewhere. Everyone has their breaking point. Everyone has a certain point where they aren’t willing to sit back and give the supermarket the benefit of the doubt. But, I think Price Chopper has finally jumped the produce shark.

But, bacon? Bacon?? I could accept Tomacco or maybe some ketchup… but, honestly, bacon? Is there anyone in the world who would be on their way to pick up some tomatoes for their families, and then notice the bacon and say, “I was going to make myself a salad, but instead I’m going to have some delicious pork.”

It just doesn’t seem fair. Do they need to put meat everywhere? I love me some meat, but is there nowhere that we will be safe from accidentally eating Wilbur?

At the very least, it seems only fair to do some real cross pollination. Why not throw some corn on the cob in with the salmon? Or maybe add some frozen peas in with the frozen hamburgers? Veggies have a hard enough life, after all, they need all the help they can get!
